Hank Hughes, owner of F/H Block Music Production Studios and CEO of F Block Music Publishing has 20 years of experience in the music industry in a variety of roles, including producer, programmer, engineer, songwriter and musician. He started his first company, the Monroe Production Company and Studios based in Holloway Road, North London in 1987. Monroe Studios had the first ever U.K. hip hop chart success in the United Kingdom with various artists including Cave Man, and The London Posse, and it was also the home and origin of drum and bass music with producers and DJ’s such as Grooverider, Mickey Finn, and Fabio gracing its premises.

Later, whilst also holding down Monroe Studios at Holloway Road, Hank also ran a department at Townhouse Studios where he assisted and engineered on various projects including Coldplay, Mary J Blige, and Muse.

Moving to Ealing Film Studios and securing the premises F Block in 2007, Hank took with him his mentoree, Shahid Khan, presently known as Naughty Boy, and started the F Block Music Production Studios. Hank rents multiple studios, subletting to other producers and management companies whilst operating his own recording studio with production, management company and record label. The first client was F Block’s own home-grown talent, Emeli Sandé, shortly followed by Sam Smith, Professor Green and of recently: Zayn Malik and Beyoncé. Hank is now firmly in the role of producer mentor and studio administrator.
