Jae5

Born in East London, Jonathon ‘Jae5’ Kweku Awote-Mensah is a Grammy Award-Winning producer who is most notably recognised for his work on J Hus’ albums ‘Common Sense’ and ‘Big Conspiracy’.

Jae5 started producing around 10 years ago when he moved back to Ghana, using Fruity Loops software to create beats which were influenced heavily by Afro Beats - a natural influence from his musical and cultural surroundings in Ghana and Hip hop. 

Jae5 took the lead with the production of J Hus’ hugely successful 17-track album ‘Common Sense,’ which is certified Gold in the UK and peaked at number 6 in the UK album chart. 

Since then, Jae5 has worked on tracks with Dave (Psychodrama, We’re All Alone In This Together), Skepta (All In), Rudimental (Toast To Our Differences) and NSG (Options).

His debut single “Dimension” ft. Skepta & Rema came out in March 2021, and signifies the beginning of an exciting period of solo output from Jae5.
